Her hobbies include water-coloring and photographing.

Dr. Nam-Hai Hoang

PRINCIPLE SCIENTIST BIOCATALYSIS

Dr. Nam-Hai Hoang

Nam-Hai brings substantial experience in enzyme development, biocatalysis and reaction engineering for our production of human milk oligosaccharides. He is an enzymologist with solid experience using different classes of enzymes for organic synthesis and food processing. Nam-Hai studied his combined Master and PhD program in Bioengineering at Tokyo Institute of Technology with a Japanese government scholarship (MEXT), and won the Kamada-Izumi award from the university upon his doctoral dissertation completion. Before joining eversyn, he had two years working as a postdoc at Fraunhofer Institute for Interfacial Engineering and Biotechnology IGB with the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt fellowship. In 2022, he was honourably selected as young scientist to participate in Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting (Chemistry).

Dr. Karim Jaenr

R&D DIRECTOR IN VITRO ENGINEERING

Dr. Karim Jaén

Karim strengthens the glycoengineering platform through the implementation of robust and scalable production processes of glycosyltransferases. Among his major assets counts the wide experience in upstream bioprocess development for manufacturing plasmids, recombinant proteins and viruses intended for clinical applications, by using cellular hosts from the simplest prokaryotic E. coli, to the eukaryotic mammalian, avian and insect cells. Additionally he counts with experience in the validation of aseptic and sterilization processes for PiSA Farmacéutica in Mexico. During his studies in Mexico, Karim earned a BSc in chemical engineering from ITESO, and specialized in biotechnology during his MSc at UNAM and his PhD at UAM Cuajimalpa. In his free time, Karim enjoys playing board games and building puzzles with his family.

Sebastian Bruno Kleeberg

HEAD OF PRODUCTION

Sebastian Bruno Kleeberg

Sebastian is in charge of the production and quality of our nucleotide sugars. He is a specialist for the development of biocatalytic processes and microbial fermentation engineering. He has been essential for the development of our technology platform. Sebastian has earned a BSc from University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz in molecular biotechnology and is about to get an MSc from Bielefeld University. In his spare time, he serves for the German Army Reserve and loves to do functional fitness and hiking.
