eversyn's team pairs deep scientific expertise with proven commercial execution. We built our glycosylation platform together at the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems. We are complemented by seasoned business professionals and serial biotech entrepreneurs, each bringing 25+ years of industry experience in scale-up, technology transfer, and successful exits. This blend of Max Planck science and operational leadership gives us the full skill set to take a deep-tech life-science platform from lab to GMP-grade commercial supply.

Meet the team
Thomas Rexer co-invented eversyn's core IP and has spent over a decade developing the company's enzymatic glycan-synthesis platform, first as team leader at the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems, then as founding Managing Director. He holds a BSc in process engineering from the University of Stuttgart, an MSc from the University of Manchester, a PhD from Newcastle University, and an MBA from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management. Thomas has built and led eversyn's high-performance interdisciplinary team from Max Planck spin-off to a company generating revenue with more than 40 international customers, driving the technical vision behind eversyn's four granted patents.

Dr. Thomas Rexer
Rachel Thu Nguyen co-founded eversyn and leads its global business development, sales, and marketing strategy, bringing ten years of experience spanning hi-tech, nutrition, and medical-device industries across Vietnam and Germany. A Dean's List alumna of Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg's MSc program in International Management, Marketing and Entrepreneurship, she has built eversyn's commercial pipeline to over 40 paying R&D customers across three continents. Rachel represents eversyn at leading international partnering events, from BIO-Europe to Future Food-Tech in Silicon Valley, and is the company's primary commercial point of contact for investors and customers.

Rachel Thu Nguyen
Dr. Nam-Hai Hoang is eversyn's Principal Scientist for Biocatalysis, bringing deep expertise in enzyme development, biocatalysis, and reaction engineering to the company's nucleotide-sugar and human milk oligosaccharide production. He completed a combined Master's and PhD in Bioengineering at Tokyo Institute of Technology on a Japanese government MEXT scholarship, winning the Kamada-Izumi award, before a postdoctoral fellowship at Fraunhofer IGB funded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. In 2022 he was selected as a young scientist for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting in Chemistry, underscoring the scientific rigor behind eversyn's proprietary enzymatic technology platform.

Dr. Nam-Hai Hoang
Dr. Ursula La Cognata is a regulatory and project-management expert with over 25 years across research, food safety, and biotech operations, including leadership roles at Bayer BioScience, aevotis GmbH, and evoxx GmbH. She holds a PhD in biotechnology from Freie Universität Berlin (summa cum laude) and is a certified biosafety officer with deep expertise in GRAS and EFSA dossiers, FDA registration, and clinical trial design. Since July 2025 she also serves on the Supervisory Board of BRAIN Biotech AG. She leads eversyn's operations and regulatory strategy.

Dr. Volker Landschütze is a serial biotech entrepreneur with 25 years of experience in scale-up and technology transfer. He founded PlantTec Biotechnologie GmbH in 1996, which grew into Bayer CropScience BioScience, and later served as Managing Director and CTO of aevotis GmbH and evoxx technologies GmbH, successfully selling evoxx to Advanced Enzymes Technology Ltd. Holding a Dr.-Ing. from the Technical University of Berlin, Volker brings proven experience taking enzymatic and carbohydrate production processes from lab to industrial scale.

Dr. Volker Landschütze
Dr. Hannes Frohnmeyer leads eversyn's downstream process development and biotransformation optimization, holding a BSc in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and a Dr. rer. nat. in Biotechnology from RWTH Aachen University. His doctoral research contributed significantly to developing gram-scale enzymatic production processes for nucleotide sugars, and he is a named inventor on two international patents in this field. Hannes combines hands-on scale-up expertise with a strong scientific foundation, making him central to eversyn's transition from lab-scale synthesis to pilot-scale production.

Dr. Hannes Frohnmeyer
Sebastian Bruno Kleeberg leads production and quality for eversyn's nucleotide sugars, specializing in biocatalytic process development and microbial fermentation engineering. He has been essential to building eversyn's technology platform from the ground up, operating bioreactors and scaling production since the company's earliest days at the Max Planck Institute. Sebastian holds a BSc in Molecular Biotechnology from the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz.

Annika Deinert brings years of professional laboratory experience in GMP-compliant quality control of medications at companies including Sandoz and Torrent Pharma, as well as vaccine development at IDT Biologika. At eversyn, she focuses on production, purification, and analysis of nucleotide sugars and oligosaccharides while supporting R&D projects and managing laboratory operations. Her background in regulated pharmaceutical quality control brings a critical layer of process discipline to eversyn's operations.

Manasi Prabhu supports eversyn's business development and marketing efforts, contributing to sales processes, market research, and customer outreach as the company scales its international commercial footprint. She holds an MBA in General Management from SRH Berlin University and previously worked as Assistant Manager for Business Development at Nutragene Biotech, gaining hands-on B2B sales and marketing experience. Manasi actively represents eversyn at key industry events, helping expand the company's network among investors, partners, and prospective customers in the European biotech ecosystem.

Prof. Reichl studied biology at Saarland University, and Chemical Engineering at Stuttgart University, where he gained his PhD at the Institute for Systems Dynamic and Control. After holding several postdoc positions, he became head of virus productions at Pitman-Moore GmbH in Burgwedel near Hanover, Germany. Since 1999, he has held the Chair of Bioprocess Engineering at the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg, and he was appointed Director at the MPI for the Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems in 2000.
